WhatsApp and App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Malaa ("Malaa", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you message us on WhatsApp or interact with our business through our Meta app malaa-crm, which connects our WhatsApp Business account to our internal customer management system. For orders placed through our website, our general Privacy Policy also applies.

Information we collect

  • Contact details: your WhatsApp phone number and WhatsApp profile name.
  • Messages and replies: the text, button replies, list selections, photos, videos and documents you send us, and the messages we send you.
  • Business details you share: for example your shop name, city, state, the type of sarees you are looking for, quantity, budget and timeline.
  • Order details: catalogues ordered, quantities, delivery address, payment status and delivery status.
  • Message metadata: dates and times of messages and delivery or read status provided by WhatsApp.

We do not use the malaa-crm app to log you in with Facebook, and we do not collect your Facebook profile, friends list or any data from your Facebook or Instagram account through this app. We do not collect card or bank account numbers; payments are handled by banks, UPI apps or payment gateways.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiries and understand your sourcing requirement.
  • To recommend saree catalogues that may fit your requirement.
  • To send catalogues, brochures, photos and videos you ask for.
  • To process orders, arrange delivery and share order and dispatch updates.
  • To follow up on enquiries and, where you have opted in, to tell you about new collections.
  • To keep records required for accounting, tax and legal purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:

  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform), which delivers messages between you and us. Meta's own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of WhatsApp.
  • Service providers that host and operate our customer management system on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, database and spreadsheet providers, and text processing tools that may help us draft replies. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
  • Courier and payment partners, only the details needed to deliver your order or confirm your payment.
  • Authorities, if required by law.

Marketing messages and opting out

We send marketing messages on WhatsApp only to people who have contacted us or agreed to receive them. You can stop them at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or by telling us you no longer want messages. We will still send messages about an order you have placed.

How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as we have an active business relationship with you or as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and invoice records may be kept for longer where the law requires it.

Security

We limit access to your information to people who need it to serve you, and we use service providers with standard security protections. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent to marketing messages at any time. To delete your data, follow the steps on our Data Deletion Instructions page.

Children

Our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
